El enfoque del estudio es cuantitativo, su población está conformada por las 42 películas animadas de la franquicia de Barbie de la empresa Mattel estrenadas entre los años 2001 y 2023 y el instrumento empleado para la recolección de datos es una lista de cotejo. Se concluye que existe un mediano nivel de cumplimiento de El viaje del héroe de Campbell en las películas animadas de la franquicia de Barbie, rechazando de este modo la hipótesis formulada al inicio. Del mismo modo, se concluye que La Partida es la etapa que presenta mayor nivel de cumplimiento y que de las subetapas, La llamada a la aventura y Libertad para vivir son las que tienen mayor cumplimiento. Finalmente, tanto Barbie: Princess Charm School como Barbie: The Princess & the Popstar son las películas que presentan un mayor nivel de cumplimiento de la estructura narrativa de El viaje del héroe de Campbell.

Given this, it was hypothesized that the animated films of the Barbie franchise present a high level of fulfillment of the stages of the narrative structure of Campbell's Hero's Journey. The study's approach is quantitative; its population is made up of the 42 animated films of the Barbie franchise by Mattel released between 2001 and 2023. The instrument used for data collection is a checklist. It is concluded that there is a medium level of fulfillment of Campbell's Hero's Journey in the animated films of the Barbie franchise, thus rejecting the hypothesis formulated at the beginning. Similarly, it is concluded that The Departure is the stage with the highest level of fulfillment and that of the substages, Call to Adventure and Freedom to Live are the ones with the highest fulfillment. Ultimately, both Barbie: Princess Charm School and Barbie: The Princess & the Popstar are the films that most closely adhere to Campbell's hero's journey narrative
