La población estuvo constituida por trabajadores de salud con infección latente de TBC, y la muestra incluyó a 516 trabajadores. El diseño de investigación fue no experimental y de corte transversal, dado que las mediciones se realizaron en un solo momento. Los resultados mostraron que, antes de la pandemia, el índice de trabajadores con infección latente de TBC fue del 49.6%, mientras que durante la emergencia sanitaria descendió al 11.8%, evidenciando una disminución del 37.8%. Este cambio fue estadísticamente significativo (Z = 12.34; p = 0.000). Se observó también un descenso en la edad promedio de los trabajadores infectados (de 47 a 39 años) y un leve aumento en la proporción de hombres afectados. Profesiones como internos de medicina y trabajadores de hospitalización mostraron mayor vulnerabilidad. Se concluyó que las medidas adoptadas para controlar el COVID-19 uso de mascarillas, ventilación de ambientes, distanciamiento físico y fortalecimiento de prácticas de higiene contribuyeron significativamente a reducir la infección latente de TBC en el personal de salud. Estos resultados destacan la necesidad de mantener prácticas de bioseguridad permanentes en ambientes hospitalarios.

The type of research was applied, as previous theoretical information was used and contrasted with the results obtained. The level of research was descriptive, as it focused on describing the results in terms of the objectives set. The population consisted of viii healthcare workers with latent TB infection, and the sample included 516 workers. The research design was non-experimental and cross-sectional, given that the measurements were taken at a single point in time. The results showed that, before the pandemic, the rate of workers with latent TB infection was 49.6%, while during the health emergency it decreased to 11.8%, showing a decrease of 37.8%. This change was statistically significant (Z = 12.34; p = 0.000). There was also a decrease in the average age of infected workers (from 47 to 39 years) and a slight increase in the proportion of affected men. Professions such as medical interns and hospital workers showed greater vulnerability. It was concluded that the measures adopted to control COVID-19 the use of masks, ventilation of environments, physical distancing and strengthening of hygiene practices contributed significantly to reducing latent TB infection in healthcare personnel.
