Sumario:The implementation of integrated pest management leads to the search for alternativesbiological without contaminating the environment, within these are the extracts of vegetable plants like Ricinus communis L., a Euphorbiaceae that contains molecules with insecticidal properties mainly in the seeds, therefore, the present objective of the research was to determine the effect of the aqueous extract of seeds of R. communis on adults of Sitophilus oryzae. To carry out the investigation, used aqueous extract at doses of 70, 80, 90g/100mL and a control (distilled water), the trial consisted of using a population of 20 individuals in 100 grams of yellow corn hard, by treatment and repetition, the evaluation was carried out for 15 days, todetermine the dose that produced the highest mortality and the LD50. The highest percentage of registered mortality was 88.3 at 90g/100mL. The analysis of variance was done through thestatistical software InfoStat, where no significant differences were found between the treatments, but if compared to the control to a 95% statistical error and to evaluate the DL50 the RStudio program was used, which was obtained as a result 44.75g/100mL,with a significance of 1%.
