In the present research it has been evaluated the personal skills and the quality of management of micro and small entrepreneurs in Chimbote. Data collection was carried out using two instruments: Standard Questionnaire for Evaluation of personal skills and questionnaire based on the Eight Principles of ISO 9000:2000 Quality to evaluate the quality of management. The probabilistic sample was comprised of two hundred and ninety-seven entrepreneurs, from which two hundred forty-one are linked to the micro enterprise and fifty-six are linked to small enterprise. To analyze the results three levels to evaluate the personal skills and the quality management were established, and also to determine the relationship between these variables, using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results indicate that the vast majority of entrepreneurs surveyed have only reached the "acceptable" level in both the personal skills and the quality management. It has also been found that the level of personal skills of micro and small entrepreneurs in Chimbote influences or is related to the quality of level management.
