| Sumario: | In the present research work was carried out in the neighborhood council of Las Lomas de Trujillo, in June 2014, with the aim of determining the concentration of total protein and albumin in adult volunteers of both sexes. A total of 90 blood plasma samples of adults of both sexes were processed using the colorimetric method of Wiener. In the case of total protein 90% of the study population presented normal levels, of which 71% were female and 29% male; 10% of the population had decreased levels with 6% for women and 4% for males. In the case of 4% albumin were elevated, decreased by 2% and 93% levels in the normal range. Depending on the age group that presented decreased levels of proteins was comprised between 37-54 years and with normal levels of 18-36years; albumin normal range between 18-36 years were obtained, while a decreased level was given in the age range of 55-72 years. With regard to diet was observed practicing a diet consistent with the recommendations in the food pyramid. Chi square test was conducted to see the relationship between the consumption of dietary protein and plasma protein concentration, this being significant, corroborating the influence of diet on these concentrations. With these results, the study population is mostly without risk of liver disease and the results correspond to the largest proportion both normal levels of total protein and albumin |
