ABSTRACT This investigation proposes the implementation of a management system for occupational health and safety for the “Curtiembre Chimu Murgia Hnos.” Company SAC of the city of Trujillo, based on a international standard such as rule OHSAS 18001, valued added to the same and generating a competitive advantage, such as the current one. The current studio had the purpose of showing such correct and effective management of risks as well the health of its workers, allowing the companies to achieve a series of key benefits to increase productivity and improve its reputation while dealing with groups at interest - stakeholders. In order to meet the development of this thesis, the following was carried out: A diagnosis of the current situation of the company in relation to the safety standard OHSAS 18001. Through the use of certain techniques and/ or tools, 32% compliance with the standard was obtained. Subsequently, an assessment was carried out on identifying risks and dangers that was in the standard and it was declared concerning those exposes its partners. Thereafter, was proceeded to design the system of management of occupational safety and health following the guidelines set out in standard OHSAS 18001. And finally and economic study was conducted, where the indicators showed the viability of investing in the implementation of the System, gaining VAN (16,928.69 soles) and a benefit/cost (1,04 soles). Accordingly, the benefits for the management system of occupational safety and health may be made know.
