La pesquisa tiene un enfoque cuantitativo, con un diseño transversal descriptivo correlacional. La población estuvo constituida por 138 estudiantes de 14 a 15 años de edad, elegidos de manera intencional. Se administraron dos instrumentos, el primero es el Cuestionario de apego emocional CaMir-R (Lacasa, 2004) y el segundo el Test de autoestima para adolescentes PAA (Caso y Hernández, 2001). Se evidenció que existe una relación altamente significativa entre la variable apego emocional y autoestima, así mismo, que no existen diferencias significativas según sexo en los niveles de ambas variables.

The research has a quantitative approach, with a cross-sectional descriptive correlational design. The population consisted of 138 students between 14 and 15 years of age, chosen intentionally. Two instruments were administered, the first is the CaMir-R Emotional Attachment Questionnaire (Lacasa, 2004) and the second is the PAA Self-esteem Test for Adolescents (Caso y Hernández, 2001).
