description Esta tesis tuvo como objetivo determinar la demanda potencial del GNV en Huancayo Metropolitano e identificar las razones que la fundamentan. El estudio se desarrolló en virtud de la aprobación del Proyecto de Masificación del uso del gas natural (GN) a nivel nacional, porque el Perú posee importantes reservas probadas de gas, siendo Huancayo una de las ciudades consideradas en dicho proyecto. El sector de transporte será el primer beneficiado con la masificación del GN, teniendo la posibilidad de substituir a los combustibles líquidos derivados de petróleo por un combustible menos contaminante y más económico. Para complementar el estudio se analizó el mercado internacional y nacional del GNV para identificar la tendencia al uso de este combustible. Realizado el análisis, se verificó que el precio competitivo del GNV sería la principal razón para la intensión de conversión a su uso en el área metropolitana de Huancayo.
