Sumario: | Currently, there are computer tools that, combined with biological knowledge, allow us to identify optimal occupation areas based on ecological requirements that are key to species conservation. However, for many species this baseline is non-existent, especially in the department of Loreto, Peru. The present work generated ecological niche models for H. harpyja and S. papa, to infer environmental suitability, estimate potential distribution and identify bioclimatic requirements, in which occurrence data and bioclimatic variables were used, the models were generated through the “Kuenm” package using the Maxent algorithm. Our models indicated that for H. harpyja the ideal conditions of occurrence were in the north and east of the region, in the provinces of Putumayo, Mariscal Ramon Castilla, Maynas and small patches in Ucayali, with an approximate potential distribution of 355565.75 km2, with the variables being The most important bioclimatic parameters are the average range of diurnal temperature (BIO2) and annual precipitation (BIO12). In relation to S. papa, where the optimal areas are discontinuous, to the north, southeast, south of the department, mainly in the provinces of Requena and Mariscal Ramon Castilla, having a potential distribution of approximately 289,139.51 km2, being mostly associated with average temperatures. annual (BIO1) and the annual temperature range (BIO7). Our results, together with geographic information and field data collection, can be useful in species conservation efforts, prioritization of sampling locations, and creation of ecological corridors. |
