Descripción
Sumario:The objective was to determine the relationship between lifestyle and nutritional status in 4th-grade secondary school students of both sexes at the Mariscal Oscar R. Benavides Educational Institution in Iquitos, 2024. The methodology was non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional, and correlational, with a sample of 164 students of both sexes. The technique was an interview, and the instruments were the questionnaire on lifestyle and its relationship with nutritional status and the anthropometric evaluation form. Regarding demographic results, it was found that 59.1% were male and 40.9% were female. The results showed that 87.2% had a healthy lifestyle and 12.8% had an unhealthy lifestyle. Regarding nutritional status, 72% of students had a normal nutritional status, 13.4% were thin, 11.6% were overweight, and 3% were obese. When the variables related to lifestyle and nutritional status were related using the nonparametric chi-square test, a p-value of 0.025 was estimated. In conclusion, there is a statistically significant relationship between lifestyle and nutritional status.
