The research was carried out with the population of the city of Nauta, province of Loreto, Loreto region, with the purpose of identifying and visualizing the environmental infractions and the sanctioning mechanisms applied. It is a quantitative investigation of the non-experimental, descriptive, analytical, horizontal type. Secondary information from the records of environmental infractions and administrative sanctions of the Environmental Management Unit of the Municipality of Loreto-Nauta was used. The population is made up of 100 percent of the inhabitants of the city of Nauta and the representative sample was determined by natural or legal persons who register environmental violations during the years from 2018 to 2022. The information was processed with the Excel Software. The hypothesis test was carried out using the Pearson Chi Square Test, using the SPSS 26 software. The types of environmental infractions present during the evaluation period are: presence of bad odors, presence of dust, gases and smoke, inadequate latrines, inadequate drainage, visual contamination, noise and inadequate management of solid waste, the last two environmental infractions are the more numerous, both are emerging due to the increase in the number of vehicles and the activities of the tertiary sector in the city of Nauta. The level of seriousness of environmental infractions tends to show variations, in light level infractions these decrease year after year, on the other hand, serious level environmental infractions remain almost constant, while very serious level infractions increase. year after year. It is concluded that the Environmental Inspection and the application of sanctioning mechanisms is not decreasing the environmental infractions in the population of the Municipality of Nauta.
