Sumario:The objective was to determine the relationship between sociodemographic variables and work overload in nurses of the care services of the Regional Hospital of Loreto Iquitos 2023. The method was quantitative with a non experimental, descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 158 nurses who work in the care services of the Regional Hospital of Loreto. The technique was the survey and the instruments were the sociodemographic data sheet and the work overload questionnaire. For the analysis and processing of the information, the statistical software SPSS version 24 was used and for the correlation analysis, the non-parametric inferential statistical test Chi Square (x2) was applied, with a significance level of α < 0.05. The results were, 44.3% of nurses were between 36 and 45 years old, 89.9% were female, 46.8% were graduates and specialists respectively, 48.7% had more than 10 years of service in the institution, 39.9% had 6 to 10 years working in the service and 33.5% worked in the emergency service. According to work overload, 96.2% presented a medium work overload, while the remaining 3.8% presented a low work overload, when relating the variables, statistical significance was found with work overload, age (p = 0.012), professional level (p = 0.001) and assistance service where they work (p = 0.004). Concluding that there are sociodemographic variables that are related to work overload in nurses of assistance services of the Regional Hospital of Loreto.
