Sumario:The objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of the educational program JANI in the improvement of reading comprehension in students of the third grade of secondary school of the II.EE. Educative Lieutenant Manuel Clavero Muga, Iquitos 2022. It included a sample of 50 students of which 25 were from the control group. The study was of an experimental type with a quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest and two groups. The main results obtained indicate that the program significantly improved reading comprehension and the inferential dimension, this is because the Mann Whitney U test shows that in both cases the p-value <0.05 than the values of Uc=0.000, p -value=0.000; Uc=0.400, p-value=0.000 respectively. Likewise, regarding the literal dimension in the T student test, a p-value=0.000>0.05 was obtained. Regarding critical comprehension in the test of equality of means, the p-value = 0.000 > 0.05 was obtained, evidencing that the educational program JANI improved the literal and critical reading comprehension dimension of the students. The study concluded that the JANI educational program significantly improved the reading comprehension of students in the study population.
