Departamento Académico de Recursos HídricosEn las últimas décadas, la cuenca del río Rímac viene atravesando un proceso progresivo de desertificación debido al cambio climático, afectando a las poblaciones más vulnerables que habitan en la parte alta de la cuenca. En ese sentido, la siembra de agua se ha posicionado como una alternativa para contribuir a la seguridad hídrica en los años venideros. Como ejemplo, existen los proyectos de rehabilitación de amunas, que revaloran el conocimiento ancestral andino con el objetivo de contribuir a la recarga hídrica del suelo gracias a su capacidad de almacenar, infiltrar y distribuir el agua proveniente de las precipitaciones; incrementando la disponibilidad de agua para el uso poblacional y el desarrollo de actividades agropecuarias en las comunidades campesinas. En ese sentido, el presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo realizar el diagnóstico para la identificación y formulación de proyectos de rehabilitación de amunas en el distrito de San Pedro de Casta, como parte de las actividades desarrolladas en el programa “Invertir AHORA” del Fondo de Agua para Lima y Callao (AQUAFONDO). La metodología del trabajo consistió en la revisión de información secundaria, recopilación de datos en campo y su posterior análisis. A partir de ello se identificaron las condiciones iniciales, se desarrolló un diagnóstico con información base y se plantearon metas para la rehabilitación y mejoramiento de las amunas. Finalmente, se concluyó que existen cinco amunas priorizadas que cumplen con las condiciones necesarias para ser rehabilitadas a fin de aprovechar estas infraestructuras nuevamente y gozar de todos sus beneficios.In recent decades, the Rimac river basin has been undergoing a progressive desertification process due to climate change, affecting the most vulnerable populations living in the upper part of the basin. In this sense, water planting has positioned itself as an alternative to contribute to water security in the coming years. As an example, there are amuna rehabilitation projects that revalue Andean ancestral knowledge with the objective of contributing to soil water recharge thanks to its capacity to store, infiltrate and distribute water from rainfall, increasing the availability of water for population use and the development of agricultural and livestock activities in rural communities. In this sense, the objective of this work was to carry out a diagnosis for the identification and formulation of amuna rehabilitation projects in the district of San Pedro de Casta, as part of the activities developed in the "Invertir AHORA" program of the Water Fund for Lima and Callao (AQUAFONDO). The work methodology consisted of a review of secondary information, field data collection and subsequent analysis. Based on this, the initial conditions were identified, a diagnosis was developed with baseline information and goals were set for the rehabilitation and improvement of the amunas.
