Maestría en Ciencias AmbientalesLa región de Madre de Dios, a pesar de estar dentro del Hotspot de Biodiversidad de los Andes Tropicales, y considerado como la Capital de la Biodiversidad del Perú, por su riqueza y diversidad de especies de flora y fauna, esta; es amenazada por la deforestación a causa de la agricultura migratoria, tala ilegal y básicamente por la minería aurífera aluvial, ocasionando perdida de cobertura de bosques, productividad y degradación del suelo. Es por ello, la necesidad de poder recuperar la salud del suelo mediante el uso de cultivos de cobertura. La investigación se realizó en la comunidad nativa San Jacinto, donde se instalaron parcelas experimentales con especies de cultivo de cobertura. El objetivo fue evaluar la bioacumulación y biotransferencia de mercurio, y el efecto de las características físico químicas y los niveles de mercurio en el suelo con Stylosanthes guianensis, Pueraria phaseoloides y Centrosema macrocarpum sobre áreas degradas por minería aurífera aluvial, con 3 y 4 años de haber sido instaladas. Se realizó un diseño en bloques completamente al azar en la zona de estudio, donde se tomó muestras de suelo, y de las especies de cobertura para su análisis de Hg en los diferentes órganos de la planta mediante el Direct Mercury Analyzer (DMA). Los cultivos de cobertura mejoran positivamente las características físico químicas del suelo con respecto a la etapa inicial (Sustrato descubierto); en Pueraria phaseoloides, se obtuvo un valor de 0.174 mg Kg-1, distribuidos en 0.016, 0.007, 0.061 y 0.090 en la raíz, tallo, hoja y hojarasca, respectivamente, teniendo una mejor absorción del metal, los resultados del FBC y FT indican que los cultivos de cobertura son acumuladoras, a excepción de Indigofera sp., lo cual calificaría a esta especie como una planta exclusora o estabilizadora.Madre de Dios a region being in the Biodiversity Hotspot of the Tropical Andes, and considered the Biodiversity Capital of Peru, because of its richness and diversity of flora and fauna species; it is threatened by deforestation due to migratory agriculture, illegal logging and basically alluvial gold mining, causing loss in the forest, productivity and soil degradation. The investigation was carried out in the San Jacinto native community, where experimental plots with covering crop species were installed. A completely randomized block design was carried out in the study area, where soil samples and covering species were taken for analysis of Hg in the different organs of the plant using the Direct Mercury Analyzer (DMA).
