Longifolia) a las sales, debido a que la salinidad limita los cultivos en general y particularmente las hortalizas por su alta sensibilidad. Se trasplantaron 21 plántulas de lechuga a macetas con suelo de textura arenosa puestas a campo abierto, las cuales se regaron con agua de diferente concentración de sales: 0,75; 1,4; 2,1; 3,4; 4,4; 6 y 7 dS.m-1. Se realizaron 3 repeticiones por cada tratamiento; el riego fue dado según las necesidades hídricas de la plata durante todo el periodo vegetativo. Después de la cosecha se midieron los parámetros: peso fresco, peso seco, longitud de planta, humedad de planta y la concentración de elementos foliares, para poder corroborar si la salinidad afectó los parámetros de calidad del cultivo. Se encontró que con la conductividad de 4,4 dS.m-1 en el agua de riego (T5) se obtuvo el mejor peso total fresco de 250,47 g. La mayor longitud de planta fue de 21,5 cm que se obtuvo con el tratamiento mencionado. Con el tratamiento 3, de 2,1 dS.m-1 de concentración salina, se obtuvo el mayor peso seco de 24,66 g.La mayor concentración de los elementos foliares para cada tratamiento fue: calcio 1,05 por ciento, magnesio 0,33 por ciento en el tratamiento 2, de 1,4 dS.m-1; la mayor concentración de cloro, sodio y sulfato hallada fue de 2,94; 1,81 y 0,99 por ciento, respectivamente, en el tratamiento 7 de 7 dS.m-1, y la mayor concentración de potasio fue de 3,71 por ciento, con el tratamiento 5, de 4,4 dS.m-1. El mejor desarrollo del cultivo se obtuvo con el tratamiento tres, de 2,1 dS.m-1, ya que obtuvo el mayor peso seco, sin embargo, el cultivo no se vio afectado significativamente por ninguno de los tratamientos aplicados.The objective of the present investigation was to determine the tolerance of the Roman lettuce (Latuca sativa var. Longifolia) to the salts, because the salinity limits the crops in general and particularly herbaceous plants because of their high sensitivity. Twenty one seedlings of lettuce were transplanted to open field pots with sandy textured soil, which were irrigated with water of different concentration of salts: 0.75; 1.4; 2.1; 3.4; 4.4; 6 and 7 dS.m-1. Three replicates were performed for each concentration; irrigation was given according to the water requirements of the plant throughout the vegetative period.
