Doctorado en Agricultura SustentableEl trabajo denominado sustentabilidad del cultivo de palto (Persea americana Mill.) en la provincia Mariscal Nieto, Moquegua, tuvo como objetivos caracterizar y evaluar la sustentabilidad de las fincas productoras de palto y el comportamiento, y evaluar el efecto de la materia orgánica (MO) y de mulch orgánico en palto, variedad Fuerte. Para la caracterización se realizó una encuesta con preguntas relacionadas con aspectos técnicos y socioeconómicos. La sustentabilidad se determinó bajo la Metodología de Análisis Multicriterio. Para evaluar el efecto de la MO se utilizó el diseño DBCA con 3 tratamientos (0-10-30 t/ha de MO) y 3 repeticiones, con 9 plantas por tratamiento. Para el efecto del mulch, se utilizó el DBCA con 4 tratamientos (sin mulch, mulches de alfalfa, avena y pasto elefante) y 3 repeticiones, con 6 plantas por tratamiento. Se determinó que las fincas de palto son pequeñas, se reporta el cambio de la variedad Fuerte por Hass. El manejo técnico del cultivo es convencional; pero deficiente originando bajos rendimientos. Los huertos en su mayoría son de tipo vergel, también cultivan alfalfa, hortalizas y otros frutales; además de criar animales. Los productores, no han desarrollado mecanismos para llegar directamente al consumidor final. Las fincas se agrupan en 5 grupos. En la sustentabilidad general, los indicadores tuvieron valores mayores en la dimensión sociocultural (ISC=2.67), seguido de la dimensión ambiental (IA=2.58) y la dimensión económica (IK=1.89); donde el 73 % de las fincas de palto no son sustentables. El mayor rendimiento se reportó con Hass (8.1 t/ha). Asimismo, la MO aumentó el rendimiento y el calibre de fruto; donde la mayor cantidad de MO permitió obtener el más alto rendimiento (6.9 t/ha). El mulch orgánico aumento el rendimiento y el calibre de fruto, siendo con el mulch de alfalfa que se obtuvo el mayor rendimiento (7.3 t/ha).The work called sustainability of avocado cultivation (Persea americana Mill.) in Mariscal Nieto province, Moquegua, aimed to characterize and evaluate the sustainability of avocadoproducing farms and their behavior, and to evaluate the effect of organic matter (MO) and organic mulch in avocado, variety Fuerte.
