Departamento Académico de HorticulturaActualmente el Perú se convirtió en el mayor exportador de arándanos en el mundo, esto es muy meritorio si consideramos que hace menos de una década era una fruta desconocida para la gran mayoría de peruanos, las excelentes condiciones climáticas del país y la alta capacidad técnica de los ingenieros agrónomos lograron que pasemos de producir 560 tn en el año 2012 a más de 219 000 tn en el 2021, sin embargo en muchas partes del Perú y el mundo el desarrollo de este cultivo se limita porque el suelo no posee las características químicas adecuadas, frente a esta problemática surge la solución de la hidroponía, plantación en contenedores con sustrato, que permite el uso de altas densidades, mayor eficiencia en el fertirriego y de obtener el máximo rendimiento posible desde el primer año de plantación. La expansión masiva en la última década del arándano trajo consigo la diseminación de plagas y enfermedades y a su vez el uso frecuente de plaguicidas que generan residuos en la fruta y la disminución de precios, debido a esto la producción orgánica es una alternativa para la mejora de precios sin embargo es complicada por las pocas herramientas y productos disponibles en el mercado.Currently, Peru has become the largest exporter of blueberries in the world, this is outstanding if we consider that less than a decade ago it was an unknown fruit for the vast majority of Peruvians, the excellent climatic conditions of the country and the high technical capacity of agronomists managed to go from producing 560 tons in 2012 to more than 219,000 tons in 2021, however, in many parts of Peru and the world, the development of this crop is limited because the soil does not have the appropriate chemical characteristics. In response to this problem, the solution of hydroponics arises, planting in containers with substrate, which allows the use of high densities, greater efficiency in fertigation and obtaining the maximum possible yield from the first year of planting.
