La Presente investigación se mide mediante dos variables, hábitos alimenticios y estado nutricional. La población estuvo conformada por 86 menores de 5 años de la Institución Educativa Mateo Pumacahua 6097 del distrito de Surco-Lima-Perú. La técnica de recolección para la variable hábitos alimenticios fue la encuesta y el instrumento es un cuestionario debidamente validado el cual contiene 16 ítems agrupados en dos dimensiones. En la variable estado nutricional la técnica fue la observación y recolección de datos y el instrumento fue la curva de crecimiento en el carné de niño sano del Ministerio de Salud y la Organización Mundial de la Salud. En cuanto a la variable estado nutricional, predomino el nivel adecuado con 56 (65%) alumnos, seguido de sobrepeso con 12 (13.9%) alumnos, 9 (10.7%) padecen obesidad, 7 alumnos (8.1%) padece desnutrición aguda y 2 (2.3%) desnutrición crónica. En la variable hábitos alimenticios 59 (68.6%) tienen hábitos saludables, 16 (18.6%) alumnos tienen hábitos poco saludables y 11 (12.8%) alumnos tienen hábitos no saludables. Por ello se hace de suma importancia el estudio ya que se puede reconocer factores de riesgo de la malnutrición en menores, lo que podría derivar a enfermedades en las siguientes etapas del ciclo vital. |

The population was made up of 86 children under 5 years of age from the Mateo Pumacahua Educational Institution 6097 in the district of Surco-Lima-Perú. The collection technique for the eating habits variable was the survey and the instrument is a duly validated questionnaire which contains 16 items grouped into two dimensions. In the nutritional status variable, the technique was observation and data collection and the instrument was the growth curve in the healthy child card of the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization. Regarding the nutritional status variable, the adequate level predominated with 56 (65%) students, followed by overweight with 12 (13.9%) students, 9 (10.7%) suffer from obesity, 7 students (8.1%) suffer from acute malnutrition and 2 (2.3%) chronic malnutrition. In the eating habits variable, 59 (68.6%) have healthy habits, 16 (18.6%) students have unhealthy habits and 11 (12.8%) students have unhealthy habits.
