Método: este estudio analizó sistemáticamente 10 artículos científicos recientes sobre el rol del farmacéutico en la dispensación de antibióticos. Se seleccionaron estudios enfocados en el uso racional de antibióticos, excluyendo aquellos con más de cinco años o sin datos relevantes, mediante búsquedas en bases de datos académicas. Resultados: se evidenció variabilidad en la dispensación de antibióticos, con deficiencias en la información proporcionada a pacientes y en las prácticas de bioseguridad. La implementación de protocolos enfrentó desafíos, pero el rol activo del farmacéutico en la revisión de recetas y las intervenciones aceptadas por médicos fueron clave para reducir la resistencia bacteriana y mejorar tratamientos. Conclusión: la intervención farmacéutica es esencial para optimizar el uso de antibióticos y disminuir la resistencia antimicrobiana. Se recomienda implementar protocolos, educación continua y mejorar la comunicación entre profesionales para fomentar un uso racional y mejorar la atención al paciente.

Only 15% of dispensings comply with adequate controls, reflecting deficiencies in professional training and communication between physicians and pharmacists. It is crucial to implement educational strategies to promote responsible use of antibiotics and improve pharmaceutical care. Method: this study systematically analyzed 10 recent scientific articles on the role of the pharmacist in dispensing antibiotics. Studies focused on the rational use of antibiotics were selected, excluding those older than five years or without relevant data, through searches in academic databases. results: variability was evident in the dispensing of antibiotics, with deficiencies in the information provided to patients and in biosafety practices. The implementation of protocols faced challenges, but the active role of the pharmacist in the review of prescriptions and the interventions accepted by physicians were key to reducing bacterial resistance and improving treatments. conclusion: pharmaceutical intervention is essential to optimize the use of antibiotics and decrease antimicrobial resistance.
