description Objetivo: determinar cuáles son los cuidados de enfermería en el paciente con síndrome de distrés respiratorio agudo en el área de cuidados intensivos del Hospital Edgardo Rebagliati, 2024. Materiales y métodos: cuantitativo, enfoque descriptivo, diseño no experimental, transversal. La población estuvo conformada por 75 pacientes con síndrome de distrés respiratorio agudo del área de cuidados intensivos. El instrumento de recolección será un cuestionario basado en las dimensiones de cualidades del hacer de enfermería, apertura a la comunicación enfermeropaciente y disposición para la atención, validado previamente. Resultados: serán presentados en tablas y figuras que describirán las variables analizadas en relación con la calidad del cuidado de enfermería y las necesidades identificadas en los pacientes. Conclusiones: el estudio resalta la importancia de optimizar los cuidados de enfermería mediante estrategias basadas en la atención centrada en el paciente y en protocolos específicos para esta condición.

The population consisted of 75 patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome in the intensive care area. The collection instrument will be a questionnaire based on the dimensions of nursing qualities, openness to nurse-patient communication and willingness to care, previously validated. Results: will be presented in tables and figures describing the variables analyzed in relation to the quality of nursing care and the needs identified in the patients.
