La muestra estuvo conformada por 50 pacientes de una población total de 98 pacientes en el periodo enero- febrero 2018. El instrumento utilizado para el recojo de la información es el Cuestionario de Apoyo Social MOS, el que evalúa las dimensiones: apoyo afectivo, ayuda material, apoyo emocional y relaciones sociales de ocio y distracción. Los resultados de la investigación evidenciaron que los pacientes oncológicos reciben apoyo emocional a nivel medio en 58%, ayuda material en 68% a nivel alto, apoyo afectivo alto en 58% y sus relaciones de ocio y distracción se dan en 64% a nivel medio. Concluyendo que el apoyo social percibido por los pacientes oncológicos se da de manera predominante en 54% a nivel medio, debido a que cuentan con alguien que los acompaña y les brinda soporte material y afectivo durante su tratamiento.

The research design is non- experimental - transversal, descriptive and with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 50 patients from a total population of 98 patients in the period January-February 2018. The instrument used for the collection of information is the MOS Social Support Questionnaire, which evaluates the dimensions: emotional support, material assistance , emotional support and social relations of leisure and distraction. The results of the research showed that oncological patients receive emotional support at the middle level in 58%, material help in 68% at high level, high emotional support in 58% and leisure and distraction relations are given in 64% at medium level .
