Se utilizó una metodología con enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo básico, diseño no experimental, descriptivo correlacional. La población estuvo constituida por 132 madres y según indican los resultados arrojados en la encuesta, un 37,9% de niños con un nivel medio en prácticas alimenticias presentaban anemia, mientras que el 62.1% de niños con altos niveles de prácticas alimenticias no mostraban signos de anemia. Se concluyó que existe una relación estadística positiva y significativa (X² = 8.049, p = 0.000) entre las prácticas de alimentación complementaria y la anemia en lactantes menores. Estos hallazgos destacan la importancia de promover buenas prácticas de alimentación para la prevención de la anemia en esta población.
