Metodología: Estudio no experimental, cuantitativo, correlacional, transversal, con una muestra de 85 pacientes, se usó como técnica la encuesta y dos cuestionarios de MOS desarrollado por Sherbourne y Stewart y cuestionario MBG (Martín-Bayarre- Grau). Para la prueba de hipótesis se utilizó el estadístico de relación Rho de Spearman. Resultados: El apoyo social es de nivel regular es 58.8%, bueno 23.5% y malo 17.6%. Asimismo, la adherencia al tratamiento se presenta en un nivel medio en 50.6%, alto 28.2% y bajo 21.2%. Existe relación positiva moderada de 0,516 y significativa (p=0,000) entre los fenómenos de la investigación, por lo que se puede interpretar que los pacientes con mayor apoyo social obtendrán una mejor adherencia al tratamiento. Conclusión: Hay relación positiva y moderada entre las dos variables y significancia estadística.
