description El propósito de esta investigación fue implementar la Gestión de existencias mediante un Sistema de Revisión Periódica para estimar y reducir el costo excesivo del inventario presente en una empresa farmacéutica. La investigación con diseño preexperimental con pre prueba y post prueba, fue aplicado a una muestra conformada por los costos de inventario registrados durante 16 semanas antes y 16 semanas después de la implementación. El diagnóstico situacional de los inventarios, mediante un análisis Causa-raíz y Pareto, reveló que los costos de pedido y almacenamiento ascendían a S/20,537.34 y S/13,006.37 respectivamente, mientras que, con la implementación del Modelo P los costos se redujeron a S/18,947.75 y S/2,104.48 durante el periodo de evaluación. Se concluyó que la aplicación del sistema de revisión periódica mejoró y generó un ahorro del 7.7% y 83.82% en los costos de pedido y almacén respectivamente.
