description La presente investigación tiene como objetivo realizar el diagnóstico actual para medir el desarrollo del turismo rural comunitario en el distrito de Santo Tomás. En los resultados encontrados, se visualiza los problemas principales que impiden el desarrollo del turismo rural comunitario, tales como la falta de información y capacitación turística hacia la población, la falta de interés de la municipalidad por incrementar un área de turismo que se encargue de la gestión y desarrollo del turismo rural comunitario y el desinterés por la opiniones que puedan tener los pobladores.
