La investigación fue del tipo sustantivo básico, el nivel fue correlacional y el diseño fue descriptivo correlacional. Se ha trabajado con 60 pobladores para recoger información pertinente. Se ha utilizado como instrumento el cuestionario de preguntas, con alternativas ordinales. En los resultados estadísticos se ha obtenido un coeficiente de 0,581, lo que significa en la escala de Rho de Spearman moderada correlación entre saneamiento básico rural y sostenibilidad en los pobladores, esto quiere decir que cuanto mejor sea el saneamiento básico rural, mejor será la sostenibilidad de los pobladores.
