description La presente investigación académica aborda el estudio general (doctrinario) de los títulos valores sin entrar en el análisis específico de cada uno de ellos con la finalidad de entender la naturaleza de la institución del Derecho Cambiario. Seguidamente, se estudia el título valor electrónico analizando lo que debe entenderse por documento papel, firma manuscrita, documento electrónico y firma electrónica (firma digital). Revisando además las normas jurídicas peruanas de la materia que permiten proponer una solución normativa-terminológica para que en el Perú se puedan crear, emitir, circular y cobrar títulos valores electrónicos. Finalmente, se exponen las ventajas que proporciona un ordenamiento jurídico que permite la existencia de los títulos valores electrónicos.
