Esta investigación tiene como objetivo determinar la prevalencia de caries dental e índice de higiene oral y frecuencia de cepillado buco-dental en niños de 1 a 4 años, 2023, el estudio fue realizado en las IPRESS I.3 6 de octubre y de Cardozo; de diseño descriptivo, no experimental, observacional-analítico, comparativo, prospectivo y de cohorte transversal; con una población de 3,553 y una muestra de 347 niños: IPRESS 6 de Octubre (173) y Cardozo (173) niños y niñas. Los resultados determinan que la prevalencia de caries dental es de 41,2% (n=143), incrementándose a los 04 años con el 66,7% (n=46). La higiene bucal fue buena (49.6%), El cepillado dental es tres veces al día con el 39,8% (n=138). La caries dental en las IPRESS 6 de Octubre (53,8%), en Cardozo (28,7%). La higiene oral de los niños de Cardozo fue excelente (57,4%) y 6 de Octubre buena (61,8%). En 6 de Octubre los niños se cepillan tres veces al día, igualmente en Cardozo. Encontramos significancia entre ICeod y la frecuencia de cepillado dental, índice Ceod y grupo etario, entre el IHOS y la frecuencia de cepillado dental, en la higiene oral y grupo etario. Llegando a la conclusión de que la caries dental comienza a la edad de 01 año incrementándose con la edad, la higiene bucal en su mayoría fue buena con una frecuencia de cepillado dental de tres veces al día. |

The results determine that the prevalence of dental caries is 41.2% (n=143), increasing at 04 years to 66.7% (n=46). Oral hygiene was good (49.6%), tooth brushing was done three times a day with 39.8% (n=138). Dental caries in the IPRESS 6 de Octubre (53.8%), in Cardozo (28.7%). The oral hygiene of the Cardozo children was excellent (57.4%) and 6 de Octubre was good (61.8%). On October 6, children brush three times a day, also in Cardozo. We found significance between ICeod and the frequency of tooth brushing, Ceod index and age group, between the IHOS and the frequency of tooth brushing, in oral hygiene and age group.
