Resultados Las características sociodemográficas fueron; edades entre 20 a 35 años, convivientes, procedencia urbana, estudios secundarios y amas de casa; asimismo en las características obstétricas se encontró; primíparas, gestación a término y controlados, así como la recepción de información sobre autocuidados durante el puerperio. El nivel de conocimiento sobre autocuidado durante el puerperio en las participantes fue bueno. Conclusión Se encontró relación estadística entre la edad (0.021), estado civil (0.001), procedencia (0.001), grado de instrucción (0.001), ocupación (0.001), edad gestacional (0.001) y recepción de información (0.001) con el nivel de conocimiento sobre autocuidado durante el puerperio; sin embargo, no se encontró relación estadística con la paridad (0.296) y atención prenatal (0.462).

Methodology The research was quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional, correlational and prospective; A statistical formula was used to obtain 132 puerperal women from the Loreto Regional Hospital and 152 puerperal women from the Iquitos César Garayar Hospital who met the selection criteria. Results The sociodemographic characteristics were; ages between 20 to 35 years, cohabitants, urban origin, secondary education and housewives; Likewise, in the obstetric characteristics it was found; primiparous, full-term and controlled gestation, as well as receiving information on self-care during the postpartum period. The level of knowledge about self-care during the postpartum period in the participants was good.
