description Con el objetivo de determinar las características y la frecuencia de publicación de tesis de psicología de tres universidades peruanas con mejor posicionamiento en el ranking Scimago, se realizó un estudio descriptivo de análisis de documentos sobre 180 tesis de pregrado aprobadas en el periodo 2010 – 2019. La búsqueda de artículos se realizó en Google Académico y la base de datos de Scopus. Los resultados indican que las tesis en mayor proporción son de tipo correlacional (53,3%), orientados a una línea de psicología clínica y de la salud (51,1%), considerando una población de tipo escolar de nivel secundario (26,1%) y con un tamaño muestral entre 51 a 200 participantes (47,2%). Solo tres investigaciones lograron ser publicadas en revistas indexadas. Se concluye que la frecuencia de publicación de tesis de universidades peruanas que lideran el Ranking Scimago, es muy baja. Esto revela la necesidad de fortalecer la investigación formativa e impulsar estrategias para incrementar la producción científica desde el pregrado peruano.
