description La lactancia materna es esencial para el correcto desarrollo del bebé y cambia según factores tales como el estado nutricional de la madre. Objetivo: determinar la asociación entre la densidad calórica de la leche humana y las mediciones antropométricas de la madre y el bebé. Método: Un estudio analítico cruzado; involucrando a madres e infantes de 1 a 6 meses de edad en el Hospital de Maternidad "El Carmen" -Huancayo, Perú. La leche materna participante se extrajo de acuerdo con las normas internacionales. Se obtuvieron mediciones antropométricas de las madres y sus infantes. La ingesta calórica de leche se midió con la técnica de Lucas. Utilizamos estadísticas analíticas y descriptivas, intervalos de confianza de 95 [%] yp <0,05 como valor estadísticamente significativo. Resultados: De los 51 encuestados, el contenido de calor promedio fue de 64. 5 kcal / 100ml. En el análisis multivariado, ajustado a la edad infantil, el contenido calórico fue mayor en niños de peso normal en comparación con la desnutrición (peso / edad: +9.9, p <0.001; tamaño / edad: +8.5, p = 0.018 y peso / tamaño: +7.1, p = 0,006). También en el peso / edad el contenido calórico de la leche materna de los niños obesos fue menor que el de la desnutrición (-14.3, p <0.001). Conclusión: Las variaciones del contenido calórico de la leche diferían entre los tres parámetros de los niños eutróficos.
