Resultados más significativos: En cuanto a las características generales; el 55% de los pacientes programados a intervenciones quirúrgicas en la Clínica Guadalupe pertenecen al sexo femenino; en cuanto a la edad el 61,3% tiene 30 a 59 años y solo el 15% tiene 18 a 29 años; sobre el grado de instrucción el 56,3% tiene como grado de instrucción superior, el 27,5% tienen secundaria concluida y solo el 3,8% sin instrucción (analfabetos); en cuanto al estado civil el 53,8% refiere ser casado(a) y el 30% refiere ser soltero(a);sobre el tipo de cirugía que fueron sometidos el 46,3% fueron intervenciones convencionales mientras que el 31,3% a intervenciones quirúrgicas laparoscópicas; el 55% refieren tener antecedentes de alguna cirugía previa. En cuanto al Nivel de Ansiedad según los síntomas positivos la ansiedad fue de nivel medio en un 61,3% y solo el 6,3% fue de nivel alto; según los síntomas negativos el nivel de ansiedad fue medio en un 66,3% y el 7,5% fue de nivel alto; finalmente el nivel de ansiedad preoperatorio en pacientes hospitalizados programados a intervenciones quirúrgicas fue de nivel medio con un 67,5%.

As a method, the quantitative design methodology of a descriptive and cross- sectional type was used. The sample population is 80 hospitalized patients scheduled for surgical interventions, using interviews and surveys techniques as instruments applied to patients. Most significant results: In terms of general characteristics; 55% of the patients scheduled for surgical interventions at the Guadalupe Clinic belong to the female sex; in terms of age, 61.3% are 30 to 59 years old and only 15% are 18 to 29 years old; on the degree of education, 56.3% have a higher education degree, 27.5% have completed secondary school and only 3.8% without education (illiterate); in terms of marital status, 53.8% report being married and 30% report being single;on the type of surgery they underwent, 46.3% underwent conventional (open) surgical interventions while 31.3% underwent laparoscopic surgical interventions; 55% report having a history of previous surgery.
