It was identified that the processes and work methodologies at the cutting stations were inefficient and disorganized, resulting in significantly high time indicators negatively impacting production. As part of the development stage, SMED and standardization methodologies were applied, both generated through simulation in Arena 16.1 software. Following the simulation, the results demonstrated that the implementation of SMED and standardization would increase production by up to 28.84%, reduce downtime by 40%, and enhance resource utilization, thereby generating economic benefits for the company. This study aimed to advance the understanding of timber production and serve as a guide for other companies seeking to optimize processes and reduce costs through Lean Manufacturing principles. Its low-cost, high-impact approach could be replicable and beneficial to other companies in the sector. |

Its low-cost, high-impact approach could be replicable and beneficial to other companies in the sector.Esta propuesta pretende resolver la baja productividad de una PYME maderera peruana a través de herramientas de estandarización y SMED, enfocadas en la filosofía Lean. La metodología se desarrolla en las etapas de diagnóstico, desarrollo de la mejora con simulación y validación y mejora continua. Se identificó que, los procesos y metodologías de trabajo en las estaciones de corte eran ineficientes y desorganizadas, generando que los indicadores de tiempos sean negativamente altos y esto afectaba a la producción. Como parte de la etapa de desarrollo, se aplicaron las metodologías SMED y estandarización, ambas siendo generadas a través de simulación en el software Arena 16.1. Tras la simulación, los resultados mostraron que la implementación de SMED y estandarización aumentarían la producción hasta en un 28.84%, además de reducir los tiempos muertos en 40% y aumentar el factor de uso de los recursos; generando un beneficio económico para la empresa. Este estudio buscó avanzar en el conocimiento de la producción maderera y servir de guía para otras empresas que deseen optimizar procesos y reducir costos a través de las orientaciones Lean Manufacturing.
