The main business of commercial banking is to provide loans, the return would be based on the returns generated by working capital and transaction flow. A segment of commercial banking clients that, to date, has not been served by the financial system, are those companies with surpluses, those that have liquidity in their accounts. This is due to the fact that they have their own resources or because they operate with the resources of their parent company. This means that loans, financing or some form of external leverage are not essential, a situation that leads to this type of client not being the focus of attention of bank officials. However, it opens up a possibility to generate a new business model for corporate -through non-financial operations such as the exchange rate, collection, correspondent services, bill collection, supplier payment, payroll payment, tax payment, among other transactions where the risk is nil and operating costs are very low. The implementation of this system would generate profitability for corporate banking where it is applied with an internal rate of return of up to 44 %. |

Distintas entidades financieras buscan la captación de la mayor cantidad de clientes empresariales (grandes, medianas, mid-market y negocios) para darles facilidades a través de financiamientos, operaciones de cash management, leasing, operaciones de tipo de cambio y demás transacciones financieras acordes al mercado y a las necesidades. El giro principal de la banca comercial es proveer de préstamos, y el retorno estaría basado en las comisiones generadas por capital de trabajo y flujo transaccional. Un segmento de clientes en banca comercial a los que, a la fecha, no se les brinda el servicio debido son aquellas empresas superavitarias, es decir que tienen una liquidez en cuentas. Esto a raíz de que cuentan con sus propios recursos o porque operan con los recursos de su casa matriz. Ello genera que no sean indispensables los préstamos, financiamientos o alguna forma de apalancamiento externo, situación que conduce a que este tipo de cliente no sea foco de atención de los funcionarios de banca. Sin embargo, abre una posibilidad para formar un nuevo modelo de negocio para la banca empresarial denominado banca non lending, la cual busca generar rentabilidad sin riesgo a través de operaciones no financieras, como el tipo de cambio, la recaudación, servicios de corresponsalía, cobranza de letras, pago a proveedores, pago de planillas, pago de impuestos, entre otras transacciones en las que el riesgo es nulo y los costos operativos son muy bajos.
