In this sense, the general objective of this article is, through the case of the PUCP Film Archive, to propose a reference model for the study of film archives. The specific objectives are to delimit the areas of internal and external analysis of a film archive, to propose the SWOT methodology focused on archives, and to identify the deficiencies or limitations that the methodology has for the study of film archives.La Filmoteca PUCP es el archivo nacional representante en la Federación Internacional de Archivos Fílmicos (FIAF) y preservador del patrimonio nacional peruano. Esta investigación contribuye a un mayor conocimiento y conciencia del papel que cumple en la preservación audiovisual. En este sentido, el objetivo general de este artículo es, a través del caso de la Filmoteca PUCP, proponer un modelo de referencia para estudiar los archivos fílmicos.
