The methodology used is that of a documentary analysis with a strong inclination towards texts of a theoretical, doctrinal and jurisprudential nature.Este artículo busca analizar la función de la Corte Penal Internacional (CPI) desde el horizonte analítico de los estudios críticos y los aportes particulares de la Escuela de Helsinki y el idealismo social. Para dar alcance a este objetivo, se comparan los principales postulados de ambas perspectivas sobre el concepto de justicia internacional penal (JIP), en general, y hacia la actuación de la CPI en su tiempo de vigencia, en particular.
