La guía se organiza en doce capítulos. El capítulo 1 es una introducción a lo que supone realizar un proyecto de tesis. Los capítulos 2-4 discuten la delimitación del tema, el trabajo con fuentes confiables, el establecimiento de los objetivos, preguntas e hipótesis de la investigación, así como la definición de un esquema de contenido. Los capítulos 5-10 discuten las diferentes secciones que normalmente se encuentran en una tesis, tales como la introducción, los antecedentes, el marco teórico, el análisis, los resultados y las conclusiones. Los capítulos 11 y 12 proponen sugerencias útiles para trabajar con referencias bibliográficas en trabajos académicos y para la revisión final antes de entregar la tesis, respectivamente.
