This article presents an analysis of the relationship between the pandemic and climate change, as well as an analysis of the impact of its effects in Peru. In this way, it contrasts the different international commitments assumed by Peru for the mitigation of climate change and the actions that have been taken to achieve these commitments. This brings to light the problems of governance and institutional strength, which have been evidenced, and in other cases aggravated, by the pandemic. To conclude, different legal perspectives on the General Law on Climate Change will be presented, in order to point out the challenges Peru faces in achieving effective legislation on climate change mitigation.
