Descripción
Sumario:There is no doubt that the COVID-19 pandemic crisis has destabilised life as we know it. Health authorities have recommended confinement as a measure to prevent the spread of the virus, focusing their suggestion on the sole accompaniment of other people with whom one cohabits. However, it is not possible to avoid seeing that, independently of human companionship, people surround themselves with other beings, plants and animals, who also live with them, this pandemic. The aim of this text is to reflect on the anthropocentric view of the malaise caused by the global crisis resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact of companion animals on mental health during confinement.
