While much of the research regarding the Chinese presence in Peru has focused on how Peruvians perceived Chinese immigrants, this work seeks to contribute to the analysis of the imaginary of Peru in China, particularly in the English-language media regularly published in Shanghai.Se analiza la representación del Perú en la prensa anglófona en China entre 1871 y 1939, periodo en que se evidenció un especial interés en este país por conocer la situación económica, política y social de América Latina y del Perú, y en particular sobre las condiciones de vida y trabajo de los inmigrantes chinos que ahí residían.
