En premolares inferiores, comúnmente con una raíz y un conducto, pueden hallarse variaciones como dos raíces o conductos en C. Las clasificaciones de Vertucci, Fan y Ahmed ayudan a describir estas configuraciones. Se ha observado una diversidad anatómica significativa en poblaciones asiáticas, africanas y latinoamericanas. En Perú, la información sobre la morfología interna de premolares es escasa, lo que resalta la necesidad de investigaciones enfocadas en su población. Objetivos: Evaluar tomográficamente la morfología y configuración anatómica interna de premolares mandibulares permanentes de pacientes que acudieron al centro dental docente del Servicio de Radiología de la Facultad de Estomatología de una Universidad atendidos entre los años 2015-2024. Materiales y métodos: Estudio de tipo transversal, descriptivo, observacional y retrospectivo. La población incluye tomografías de pacientes atendidos entre 2015 y 2024 en el Servicio de Radiología Oral y Maxilofacial de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. Se analizarán premolares mandibulares, excluyendo tomografías con defectos anatómicos o baja calidad diagnóstica. Se evaluarán raíces y conductos según las clasificaciones de Vertucci y Fan, utilizando cortes axiales y vista 3D. La información será analizada en STATA 18.0. Se usará estadística descriptiva y Chi-cuadrado para el análisis. Conclusiones: Los resultados del estudio brindarán datos específicos sobre la anatomía interna de premolares mandibulares permanentes, útiles como referencia para futuras investigaciones en la población peruana. |

Its success depends on understanding internal root anatomy, which varies greatly and is influenced by demographic factors and age. Anatomical complexities such as curvatures and isthmuses make complete cleaning difficult, which can lead to apical periodontitis. In mandibular premolars, which commonly have one root and one canal, variations such as two roots or C-shaped canals may be found. The Vertucci, Fan, and Ahmed classifications help describe these configurations. Significant anatomical diversity has been observed in Asian, African, and Latin American populations. In Perú, information on the internal morphology of premolars is limited, highlighting the need for research focused on its population. Objectives: To evaluate the morphology and internal anatomical configuration of permanent mandibular premolars in patients who attended the teaching dental center of the Radiology Service between 2015 and 2024. Materials and Methods: Cross-sectional, descriptive, observational and retrospective study. The population of this study includes CT scans of patients treated between 2015 and 2024 at the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Service of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. Mandibular premolars will be analyzed, excluding tomography scans with anatomical defects or low diagnostic quality. Roots and canals will be evaluated according to the Vertucci and Fan classifications, using axial sections and 3D views. The data will be analyzed using STATA 18.0. Intra- and inter-examiner calibration with a kappa coefficient will be applied. Descriptive statistics and chi-square tests will be used for the analysis.
