Recent studies have also demonstrated the importance of vasopressin, dopamine, insulin, thyroid hormone and nitric oxide. These scientific contributions identified the importance of medical research on the causal explanation of aggressive behavior of the human being, within the integral and multidisciplinary approach of contemporary Criminology.Las hormonas son sustancias químicas producidas por las glándulas, se segregan al torrente sanguíneo y se desplazan  por  todo el cuerpo influyendo en el comportamiento humano. Gracias al estudio de mecanismos fisiológicos y fisiopatológicos, se han determinado los efectos conductuales de las hormonas Testosterona, Cortisol, Noradrenalina, Serotonina, etc. Estudios recientes también han demostrado la importancia de la Vasopresina, Insulina, Dopamina, la hormona tiroides e incluso el óxido nítrico.
