The percentage of removal for the parameters were: BOD5,20 (point 1 = 22.31%; point 2 = 23.97%) and COD (point 1 = 23.0%; point 2 = 20.28%). The transformation coefficient indicated that the waters are biodegradable (point 1 = 0.44; point 2 = 0.5 / biodegradablecondition = 0.2-0.7). Although the BOD5,20 and COD values decreased withthe mineral treatment system, the final concentration indicated non-compliance with the regulatory level. It is concluded that the biodegradable transformation through environmental treatment with minerals in the Huacachina lagoon decreased the organic matter content, although it was not sufficient to consider the quality of the water removed as adequate.El objetivo del estudio fue analizar la transformación biodegradable mediante tratamiento ambiental con minerales en la laguna de la Huacachina, Ica-Perú.Entre mayo y agosto de 2023 se seleccionó de forma probabilística, dos puntos de muestreo a nivel de orilla y con una distancia aproximada de 80 m para la medición de la DBO5,20 y la DQO antes y después de tratar el agua disponible mediante un sistema mineral con dos capas para la remoción de la DBO5,20 y la DQO: 1ra) arena silicatada, y 2da) carbón activado granulométrico. El porcentaje de remoción para los parámetros fue: DBO5,20 (punto 1 = 22,31%; punto 2 = 23,97%) y DQO (punto 1 = 23,0%; punto 2 = 20,28%). El coeficiente de transformación indicó, que las aguas son biodegradables (punto 1 = 0,44; punto 2 = 0,5 / condición biodegradable = 0,2-0,7). Aunque, los valores de la DBO5,20 yDQO disminuyeron con el sistema de tratamiento mineral, la concentración final indicó incumplimiento del nivel regulatorio.
