If the oralantral comunication is not corrected , inflamatory and infectuos conditions can occur in the maxillary sinus . La comunicación bucosinusal es un tipo de complicación quirúrgica que se caracteriza por la presencia de una solución de continuidad entre la cavidad bucal y el seno maxilar. Su etiología está relacionada con diferentes factores. Para su diagnóstico y tratamiento es necesario evaluar las características clínicas de la misma, como sintomatología asociada, tiempo de evolución y tamaño.
