Objective: To describe the experiences that trigger academic burnout in nursing students. Methods: Qualitative phenomenological study conducted from August 2022 to June 2023, in a public university in Guanajuato. Selection criteria: undergraduate nursing students from 5th to 8th semesters, between 18 and 23 years old, nursing students who completed a practicum in the hospital setting. Convenience sampling with 10 participants, considering the information saturation criterion. Data collection through a phenomenological interview with a trigger question. Phenomenological thematic analysis, the criteria of the General Health Law on Health Research were respected. Main results: Themes emerged from the analysis: 1. Meaning of exhaustion, 2. Work overload, 3. Dynamics of practices and classes, 4. Emotional charge, 5. Impact it generates in life. It has been evidenced that nursing students do develop academic burnout derived from various factors such as overload, including the modification in terms of personal dynamics that influences this burnout by combining school with other activities. Conclusion: Nursing students who have taken some practice present experiences throughout the Bachelor's degree that trigger academic burnout, in which they have felt exhausted by the dynamics of practices and classes and the excessive load of activities that they develop as a whole, where as a consequence of this has an emotional impact that modifies their life dynamics. |

Métodos: Estudio cualitativo fenomenológico que se llevó a cabo de agosto del 2022 a junio del 2023, en una universidad pública de Guanajuato. Criterios de selección: estudiantes de licenciatura en enfermería de semestres de 5to a 8vo, entre 18 a 23 años, estudiantes de enfermería que cursaron alguna práctica en el ámbito hospitalario. Muestreo por conveniencia con 9 participantes, se consideró el criterio de saturación de información. Colecta de datos a través de una entrevista fenomenológica con una pregunta detonadora. Análisis temático fenomenológico, se respetaron los criterios de la Ley General de Salud en materia de investigación para la Salud. Resultados principales: Del análisis emergieron cinco temas: Cansancio como expresión de agotamiento, Sobrecarga de actividades universitarias, Dinámica de prácticas y universidad, Carga emocional y Consecuencias de agotamiento. Se ha evidenciado que los estudiantes de enfermería desarrollan agotamiento académico derivado de diversos factores como la sobrecarga, incluso la modificación en cuanto a la dinámica personal que influye en ese agotamiento al combinar la universidad con otras actividades. Conclusión general: Los estudiantes de enfermería que han cursado alguna práctica presentan experiencias a lo largo de la Licenciatura que desencadenan agotamiento académico, en la cual se han sentido agotados por la dinámica de prácticas y clases y la carga excesiva de actividades que desarrollan en conjunto, donde a consecuencia de esto tiene un impacto emocional que modifica su dinámica de vida.
