This study focuses on the family and personal projects, since they are members of the political and academic elite, and it is particularly embedded in the political and institutional history of the period.El ensayo propone un análisis desde lo biográfico del contexto político-intelectual peruano, en el giro del siglo XIX al XX, a partir de la producción escrita y la actividad institucional del intelectual Javier Prado y Ugarteche, referido frecuentemente por la historiografía de ideas como uno de los introductores de las ‘tesis positivistas’ al medio local.
