In this sense, we will identify the idioms in which faith and worship prevailed. Finally, it will be mentioned the way in which the Catholic creed has intervened in the forms and customs expressed in colloquial sayings and proverbs related to the role of women during that time.En este artículo se analizará cómo el catolicismo ha influenciado en la formación de expresiones coloquiales durante el Virreinato y cómo estas siguen vigentes en la actualidad. Para ello, nos enfocaremos en la tradición «Mujer y tigre», texto en el que Ricardo Palma hace referencia a la importancia que ejerce la religión católica en la sociedad virreinal, así como su influencia en las relaciones interpersonales. En ese sentido, se identificarán los modismos en los que predominaron la fe y el culto.
