It is proposed that research is a relevant variable to be evaluated as a protective factor for the appearance of some mental health problems in Peruvian doctors and medical students.La investigación permite adquirir ciertas conductas o aptitudes como habilidades sociales, resiliencia, perseverancia, etc. Además, reduce el riesgo de sentir insatisfacción con los logros profesionales y/o académicos en los estudiantes de Medicina. Por tales motivos, investigar puede tener un impacto positivo en la salud mental de quienes la practican.
