Even though job vacancies in the construction sector were usually occupied by men, since it was considered that their performance was more efficient, gradually these positions have been occupied by women. These women have become empowered and currently occupy high hierarchy and responsibility positions, leading both building sites and their own construction companies in an optimal way.Este artículo analizará la tradición «¡Beba, padre, que le da la vida!...», texto en el que Ricardo Palma hace referencia al rol femenino en asuntos considerados masculinos, tal como solía ocurrir en el caso de la ingeniería civil. A pesar de que las plazas laborales en el sector construcción usualmente estaban cubiertas por hombres, ya que se consideraba que su desempeño era más eficaz, paulatinamente las citadas plazas han sido cubiertas por mujeres.
